Louise Preston Burney

November 22, 1936 - February 8, 2015

Louise Preston Burney, 78, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Sunday, February 8, 2015.  Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jimmy Garlin of Thomasville, GA, and Calvin Burney, Jr. and wife Lutricia of Lehigh Acres, FL; daughters, (RET) SFC, USA Army, Anita L. Scott Gipson of DeRidder, LA; Tracie Garlin (Smith), Marilyn Savage, Sabrina Holton, and Roberta Johnson; stepmother, Irene Preston Loggins of GA, spouse, Earl Scott of FL; brothers, Matthew Preston of FL, Kalvin Preston of Atlanta, GA, and Roosevelt Preston of FL; sisters, Laura Scurry of GA, Lee Preston of FL, and Maggie Preston Raymond; grandchildren, Mitchell Garlin, Jay Garlin, Gerald Garlin, Kali Garlin, Orin Smith Garlin, James Garlin, Tanessa Holton, Active Marine Corps, Calvin T. Burney, Printiss L. Garlin, Evony Garlin, Crystal Garlin, Desmond Garlin, Jadren Scurry, Ashley Timmons and Joseph Gipson; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father, Roosevelt Preston, mother, Susie Youngblood; son, Mitchell Garlin, Jr., brothers, Roy, Roscoe, and Frank Preston, and sister, Thelma Rayner.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 11:00am at Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA.  Pastor Keith Stevenson will officiate.
