Louis Scallon, Jr.

Louis George Scallon, Jr., 75, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, August 18, 2022.

Louis served in the Viet Nam War as a missile technician of the United States Air Force. He was very proud to have served his country. He worked as an I&E Maintenance Technician at Boise Cascade for 30 plus years, he was also a member of the United Steel Workers 1226 Union. Louis was a member of the local American Legion.

Louis was known for his love of Harleys and his family. He was the ultimate jokester who was sure to bring a smile to everyone he came in contact with.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Wilma Scallon of DeRidder, LA, sons, Michael Scallon and Renee of DeRidder, LA, Bubba Scallon and Kim of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Pam Lambert, Gwenda White and David, Janet Alston and Morrell, all of DeRidder, LA; sister-in-law, Judy Scallon; brother-in-law, Jerome Hayes; special friend, Debi Loftin of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Lesli Scallon and Taylor, LaKayBra Purdy and Timothy, Justin Scallon, Brookelyn Scallon, Breeana Sexton and Bailey; great grandchildren, Keith Doyle, Jr., Sean Scallon, Racelyn Scallon, Kinzlee Purdy, Kohen Purdy, Knox Purdy and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis, Sr. and Gwendolyn Scallon; brother, Lawrence; sister, Bobbie Hayes.

Memorial service will be held Sunday, August 21, 2022, at 12:00 PM at Louis’s home, 520 Scallon Rd., DeRidder, LA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family for expenses.
