Funeral Services for Lorene W. Spikes, who departed this life on May 29, 2008, will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 11:00 am at Norris Memorial Church of God in Christ in DeRidder. Officiating will be Elder Otha Green and Rev. Wilfert Williams. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 3, 2008 from 5:00 – 9:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Burial will be at Spikes-Bancroft Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Myers Colonial Funeral Home of DeRidder.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester “Pappy” Spikes; parents: Archie and Collie Williams; a daughter, Bessie Jenkins and son James Ivy Spikes.
She was the mother of Morning Star C. O. G. I. C. She was a dedicated mother to all of her children and a mother to many other children. Mrs. Spikes was employed at Hyatt High School for many years as a cafeteria technician. She assisted in her community with those with special needs. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
