Lonnie Ray Bush

Lonnie Ray Bush, 82, of Merryville, LA, born on June 17, 1940 to James Alvin Bush and Mary Elizabeth Bush, passed from this life on Saturday, February 11, 2023.

Lonnie was an avid sports fan. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Astros. Any time a game was on he could definitely be heard loudly cheering them on. He loved to laugh and to make you laugh. He always had a joke or a funny story to tell. He loved when you had one for him. His laugh was contagious and you would find yourself laughing even when you didn’t feel like it. He loved to play cards or dominoes and was always ready for a game or two or three, at any time.

Those left to cherish his memory are his three nieces, Ellen Terrell, Sandra “Cricket” Langley, and Mary Ann Terrell, all of Merryville, LA; five nephews, Nathan Terrell and Ceilestia, Roy Terrell, Bobby Terrell, Larry Terrell, all of Merryville, LA, James Seawright and Shirley of Silsbee, TX, one niece-in-law, Jean Cooley Terrell of South Carolina and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Alvin Bush and Mary Elizabeth Bush; two sisters, Iris Winona Terrell and Juanita Audrey Mooney; two nephews, Dennis Ray Terrell and Allen Dale Terrell, Sr.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 15, 2023, also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home.  Reverend Frank Kendell will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Roy Terrell, Bobby Terrell, Larry Terrell, Nathan Terrell, David Terrell, James Seawright. Burial will follow at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Warren, TX.
