Leona Williams

Leona Bettis Williams, 96, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Monday, June 14, 2021.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Eddie Lee Williams of DeRidder, LA, Leo Leonard Williams of Lake Charles, LA, Obie Williams, Sr. and Patricia of DeRidder, LA; daughters, Pennie Mitchell, Earnestine Hinton, both of Westlake, Linda Harrison of Bancroft, LA; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, nineteen great-great grandchildren; special friends, Jimmy and Shirley Childs, Elsee Ashworth; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Williams; daughter, Drulie Allen; parents, Lemon and Pennie Bettis; eleven brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Friendship Baptist Church in Bancroft, LA. Pastor John Crosley will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Obie “Bubba” Williams, Jr., Brandon Williams, Tyler Mitchell, Eddie Williams, Jr., Dante Clark, Barry Burley, Ray Mitchell, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Eddie Lee Williams, Obie Williams, Sr., Leo Williams, G.W. Levias, Willard Bettis, Walter Bettis, Paul Bettis, LeNoah Bettis, Jr. Burial will follow at Spikes Cemetery in Bancroft, LA.
