Norman Cooley, 74, of DeQuincy, LA passed from this life on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at his home.  Norman served in the U.S. Army from May 1956 until April 1959 and served 3 years in the Panama Canal Zone.  He worked at Cities Service  and retired from Local 106 Pipefitters.  Norman was an avid deer hunter.  He was known to the people of DeQuincy as the man on the "Red Scooter".


Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Joyce Cooley of DeQuincy, LA; sons, Shannon Cooley and wife Linda of Singer, LA, Scott Cooley of DeQuincy, LA, and Monte Lee Cooley and wife Brenda of Singer, LA.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Mattie Cooley.


Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 4:00pm until 10:00pm at Lifeway Pentecostal Church in Singer, LA.  Funeral services will be Friday, March 7, 2014 at 10:00am at Lifeway Pentecostal Church.  Burial will follow at Oretta Cemetery in Oretta, LA.  Bro. Alvin Smith will officiate.
