LaFaye Barnes Graham

LaFaye Barnes Graham, 88, of DeRidder, LA, passed away on December 26, 2024. She was born in Rayville, LA, on December 7, 1936, to Nelson L. and Eula Campell Barnes.

LaFaye had a strong Christian faith and loved her church family. She had a gift for teaching others at any age, having 31 years with the Beauregard and Calcasieu school systems, and a love for learning and traveling. She had a heart of gold and never met a person she couldn’t have a conversation with. She graduated from McNeese State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Northwestern State University with a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Jimmy Graham and wife Alene of DeRidder, LA; her siblings Nelson R. Barnes and Doris Snyder; and host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Eula Barnes; daughter, Mary Graham; siblings Timothy Barnes and Fern Graham; and sister-in-law Candace Barnes.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
