Col. Kenneth Neal Johnson U.S. Army Reserve, (Retired), passed from this life on June 3, 2012 at Christus Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA. Visitation will be Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 3 p.m. at East Leesville Baptist Church in Leesville, Louisiana, followed by a memorial service to honor his life at 5 p.m. Burial will be on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. at Drakes Ford Cemetery in Cravens, LA. Rev. Arlen Smith will officiate.


Kenneth Johnson, 67, was born on July 2, 1944 in Paris, TX.  He was a graduate of Northwestern State University.  He served 33 years in the military and Army Reserves.  He retired from Civil Service on Fort Polk as the Deputy G3. At the time he passed he was working for Cubic.  He was very passionate about his position as Treasurer for the Drakes Fork Cemetery Association which he held for a number of years.


Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda; two sons, Kenneth Donavon “Don” Johnson and wife Stefanie of Olive Branch, MS and Robbyn Joseph Johnson and wife Lisa of Leesville, LA; daughter, Milisia “Missie” Jewell Holaway and husband Kenneth of Leesville, LA; brother, Kelvin Johnson of Leesville, LA; two sisters, Janet McGrath of Plano, TX and Abbie Griffin of Ennis, TX.  He is also survived by his four grandchildren,  Emily Johnson, Neal Johnson, Logan Holaway, Connor Johnson; one-step grandson, Cody Taylor; two step-granddaughters, Macy Taylor and Carly Taylor and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, Neal & Jewell Johnson and sister, Anita Johnson McAfee.
