Mrs. Kathy Lorraine Jones Bruner was born on March 21, 1958, in Deridder, Louisiana, to the late John Henry Jones and Delorise Armstrong Jones.

Kathy received her education in the Beauregard Parish school system. She was a graduate of Deridder High School class of 1976. Kathy received a BS Degree in Criminal Justice from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

Kathy was a member of God’s Way Gospel Church through Jesus Christ under the leadership of Rev. Kenneth Seastrunk.

Kathy was a member of BCAA, NAUW.

Kathy served on the Beauregard Parish School Board for 13 years and was a secretary for Deridder City Hall for many years.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father and mother, John Henry Jones and Delorise Armstrong Jones; grandson, Dylan Higginbotham.

Kathy leaves to cherish her memories, loving husband, Jacob Bruner, four sons, Byron (Kenya) Nash of Spring, TX, Shadrick (Bridget) Nash of Deridder, LA, Corey (Karrita) Nash of Conroe, TX and Trea Trapp of Lake Charles, LA; three Brothers, Trennis (Grova) Jones of Austin, TX, Carlos (Stephanie) Jones of Houston, TX and John (Kelli) Jones of Houston, TX; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Gakiesha, Markel, Kennedy, Ka’Marii, Ashton, Jasmyn, Asia, Londyn, Jordan Maddox and family; nephews and nieces, Trennis, Jordan, John, Jill, Tamara, Carla and Carlos; aunt, Delores Armstrong; special friends, Caroline Jones, Gloria Blake, Sandra McCoy, Sylvia Jones and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA. Reverend Kenneth Seastrunk will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
