June Maureen Thompson Crossno, 80, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Saturday, March 23, 2024.

June was born April 19, 1943, in San Antonio, TX. She graduated from Merryville High School and after attending McNeese State University, she went to work as a lab and x-ray technician for Dr. Brown’s family clinic for twenty years and also as a lab technician for Dr. Carter for ten years. She was active in the Merryville Historical Society and the MHS alumni association. June founded the Legion of Mary at St. Bridget Catholic Church and was a Eucharistic minister for Merryville’s sick and shut ins. She is loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Angela Cryer and Jody of Merryville, LA; grandchildren, Victoria Smith and Shane of DeRidder, LA, Cade Snyder of Merryville, LA; great grandchildren, Mason Reese Smith, Braxley Scott Snyder; sisters, Billye Pizzolatto of NC, Martha Sigler of Newton, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Doris Thompson; sister, Cheryl Drake.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the Rosary recited at 6:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeRidder, LA. Father V. Wayne LeBleu will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Cade Snyder, Shane Smith, Jody Cryer, Gerald Cryer, Cameron Allen, Kyler Griffin. Burial will follow at Merryville Cemetery in Merryville, LA.
