Judy Rae Simpson, 73, of DeRidder, Louisiana passed from this life on Saturday, July 16, 2016 in Lake Charles. Judy was a devoted mother to her children.  She loved her pets and doted on them.  Judy was domestically gifted and enjoyed needlework, crochet, drawing and cooking.  She was creative and artistic and passed that ability to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.


Judy is survived by her husband of more than 50 years, Willie Simpson of DeRidder.  Together they had three children, daughters, Charol Simpson of DeRidder; Sharon Bailey and husband Dennis of DeRidder, and son, Bill Simpson (now deceased).  She will be remembered lovingly by her grandchildren, Billy Joe Reed of Baytown, Texas and Amanda Young of Midland, Texas and her great grandchildren, Kyler Reed, Shelby Reed, Mika Young, Abbigail Young, Ceili Reed & Makaylah Reed will hear stories of their Great Grandmother. Judy is also survived by a sister in law, Freida Snapp of DeRidder; nephew, Dewayne D. Bailey; nieces, Monica Vernier and Andrea Sasser; aunts, Jackie Denmark and Ester Evans and families all of Roseburg, Oregon.


Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 10:00 am at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Rev. Jason Hoychick will officiate.  Burial Services will follow at Old Cypress Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.  Pall Bearers will be Sam Jones, Carlos Stewert, Kody Young, Pierre Hebert, Dewayne D. Bailey, Marvin Dewayne Bailey, Johnny Vernier, and Todd Sasser.
