Joseph "Red" Edward Allen

Joseph "Red" Edward Allen, 67 years old of DeRidder passed away on September 30, 2024 at Westwood Manor surrounded by his loving family. He had a heart of gold, unforgetting smile, and love for all of his family and friends.

Red was born on May 8, 1957, in Binghamton, NY to the late Charles B. Allen Sr. and Theresa M. Allen. Red was a 1977 graduate from Deridder High. Shortly after high school he moved to Binghamton NY where he began working as a carpenter, he was a member of Carpenters local 277. Later on he started his career in Millwright where he retired after 40 years he was a member of Union Millwright 1163 (New York) Red loved being outside, he enjoyed working in his shop working on his woodworking. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his great nieces and nephews. Red was a very caring person who would try and help anyone if he could especially if they were trying to better their lives.

Red is survived by his brother/Best friend John T. Allen and wife Cheryl, Sister Barbara Allen and spouse Charles Self, Aunt Gerri Allen Nephews Steven Allen, Nathan Allen, Thomas Allen (God Son) and wife Alisha, John Robert (God Son) Richard Allen and wife Gwendolyn. Niece Theresa "Teri" Allen (God Daughter) Great Nieces and Nephews Alyssa, Delilah, Anabelle, Ian, Liam, Olivia, Elliott, Oliver, Madilyn. And a host of amazing friends and family.

Red is preceded in death by his parents Charles B. Allen Sr. Theresa M. Allen, Brothers William "Bill" Allen, Charles "Chuck" Allen Uncle, Tom Allen Aunt Helen M. Kurey and John Kurey.

There will be a private memorial set at a later date. Cremation has been entrusted to Myers-Colonial Funeral Home.
