Johnny James Bennett

Johnny James Bennett, 71, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Friday, April 6, 2018.

Johnny proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he was wounded in action during the Vietnam Conflict. He continued to serve his country and retired from the US Army after 21 years of service.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 33 years, Carol Lynell Bennett of DeRidder, LA; daughters, Sandra Dougherty and husband Walter of Sulphur Springs, TX,  Margie Buck of Great Falls, MT; brothers, Jimmy Bennett and Eddy Bennett, both of Stockton, GA; sisters, Linny Morgan and Rosa Lee McCullough, also both of Stockton, GA; six grandchildren:  Kayla Anderson, Tony Anderson, Alyssa Ridenour, Amanda Daniels, Christopher Buck and Brian James Buck; nine great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Mary Bennett and five brothers and sisters.

Visitation and service will be held on Monday, April 9, 2018 from 1:00-2:00PM until the time of service at 2:00PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home, in DeRidder, LA. Brother Zale Lewis will officiate.  Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
