Johnny Edward Sharp

Johnny Sharp, 69, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Friday, March 4, 2022, at his happy place on Toledo Bend.

He was born March 23, 1952, the son of Jeff and Betty Spikes. He graduated from DeRidder High School in 1970 before beginning his lifelong career of 44 years at Boise Cascade/PCA where he retired as a back-end manager. Johnny, was deeply devoted to his family and dog, Shorty.

A loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He enjoyed, cooking, hunting, fishing, Saints and LSU football. He will be forever loved, respected, and missed.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving spouse of 50 years, Mary Sharp of DeRidder, LA; sons, Johnny Sharp, Jr., of DeRidder, LA and James Sharp and Shannon of Ocean Springs, MS; daughter, Jennifer Ward and Alex of Fairview, TN; sister, Shirley Spikes of DeRidder; LA; grandchildren, Reagan, Lexis, Katelyn, Abigail, Taylor, Kolin, Linkon, Deuce, Beau, James (“Jimbeaux”), Cooper, Demi-Leigh; great grandchild, Liv Presley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tara JonAnn Sharp; parents, Jeff Spikes and Betty Spikes; sister, Patsy Beckham.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2022, from 2:00 PM TO 8:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will continue on Monday, March 7, 2022 at 9:00 AM until the time of funeral service at 3:00 PM, also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home.  Brother Charlie “Sam” Carroll will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Steve Temple, Davis Peavey, John McElroy, Al Flores, Alex Ward, Kolin Brown. Honorary Pallbearers will be Linkon Brown and Mike Lee. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
