On Sunday night, June 5, 2022, God picked one of his precious roses from his garden. Mother Johnnie Faye Patterson heard the voice of Jesus say “Come unto me and rest”.


Johnnie was born on May 1, 1954 the third daughter to Elder Jimmy and the late Mother Ceola Harris in Fort Hood, Texas. She attended public school in DeRidder, LA where she graduated from G.W. Carver High School in 1972. She was married to the late Timothy Johnson, who proceeded her in death. To this union two children were born. Johnnie was the mother of two children: Marcus Patterson and Sheena Johnson. She was a loving mother, grandmother, Godmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She loved helping everyone that she came in contact with. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and served faithfully at the Anders Temple Church under the leadership of the late Elder Vino Anderson.


On February 7, 1988 Johnnie United with the St. Mary Church of God In Christ. Beginning under the leadership of the late Elder Steve Piper, the the late Elder James Piper Jr, and Supt. Dallas Thomas. Johnnie was a dedicated Prayer Warrior, Sunday School Teacher, Kitchen Leader, Choir Member, Youth Director, Board of Trustee, Pastor's Aid President, a member of the Women's Department, Free Lunch Leader, and a graduate of the First Jurisdiction of Louisiana under the leadership of Bishop Winbush. On February 4, 2018 she joined the Norris Memorial Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Murray C. Piper where she serviced until her health failed. She was a member of the prayer team, President of Pastor's Aid, a Church Mother, and a faithful Sunday School Class No 2 member.


Those left to cherish her memory are Father, Elder Jimmy Harris Sr of DeRidder, LA; son, Marcus Patterson of DeRidder, LA; daughter, Sheena Johnson of DeRidder, LA; brothers, Jimmy Harris, Jr & Barbara of Leesville, LA, Sam Harris of DeRidder, LA, Elder Michael Harris & Tonya of DeRidder, LA, Richard Harris & Renee of Dallas TX, Darren Harris of DeRidder, LA, Richard Moore & Datron of DeRidder; sisters, Martha St. Romain of DeRidder, LA, Kassandra Washington & LeVon of DeRidder, LA, Billie High & Joe Sr of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, A’ syriah E. Kelly, A’siah E. Spikes-Patterson; grandpets, Lyric, Charlie, Patches, Lil Bit and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ceola Harris; brother, Minister Ezzard Charles Harris, Sr; sisters, Julia Crockett and Donna Thurston.


Visitation will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA and continue at 9:00 AM on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Norris Memorial COGIC until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Pastor Murray Piper will officiate the service.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Crockett, Jr., Darren Allen Davis, Jr., Ezzard Charles Harris, Jr., Warren Cross, Joseph Edwards, Jacob Graham. Honorary pallbearers will be Isaiah Palmer, Noah Adekola, A’siah E. Spikes, Marcus Patterson, Jimmy Harris, Sam Harris, Darrell Harris, Michael Harris, Richard Harris, Richard Moore, Joe High, Rodrick Ward, Kevin Harris, LeVon Washington, Cedric Washington, Von Washington, Jaddaric Miller, Joe High Jr, Steven Crockett, Rishawn Harris, Brandon Harris Sheldnick Gray, Darren Allen Harris, Jr, Jatom Harris, Raymond Harris, Charles Harris, Jr., Antoine Harris, and Antwon Harris. Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
