John Wesley Gordon

John Wesley Gordon, 75, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, August 17, 2023.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of thirty-three years, Faye Gordon of DeRidder, LA; sons, Marvin Gordon and Pat of Brooklyn, NY, Tyrone Fields of DeRidder, LA; brothers, Joseph Crawford, Jeffery Crawford, both of NY; sisters, Sandra Butler of NY, Rosa Gordon of Columbia, SC, Susan Crawford of NY;  grandchildren, Ryan High(Joe), Derrick Gordon; brothers-in-law, Danny Groves, Ricky Jefferson, both of DeRidder, LA; sister-in-law, Rose “Rosie” Shelby of DeRidder, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Gordon, Sr. and Mattie Dyckes; sister, Shirley Brown.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Sweet Home Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA. Reverend Kurt Bouie will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Joe High, Christian Reder, Chris Johnson, Fred Wilson, Chris Bolton, Derrick Clophus. Honorary Pallbearers will be Marvin Gordon, Tyrone Fields, Maurice Shelby, Ronnie Shelby, Myron Shelby, Willie Nichols. Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
