John "J.W." William Person

John “J.W.” William Person, 83, of Rosepine, LA, passed from this life on Friday, May 21, 2021.

John retired from Exxon after thirty years of service as a field supervisor.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of fifty-four years, Alice Landry Person of Rosepine, LA; daughters, Erika Russell and Tony of Rosepine, LA, Erin Peavy and Scott of Rosepine, LA; brother, Noble Person of Basile, LA; sister, JoAnn Wood and Don of Rosepine, LA;  grandchildren, Matt, T.J., Derek, Brandon, Trevor, Danielle, Mikalyn, Kennidy, Robin;  great grandchildren, James, Jude, Deuce, Greyson, Elliott, Jace, Reece plus two on the way and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Eric Person, Derek Person; parents, Emil and Mary Pearl Person; brothers, Mel Person, Jim Person.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 24, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Graveside funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Lewis Cemetery in DeRidder, LA. Pastor Arlen Smith will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Matt Person, T.J. Russell, Brandon Russell, Trevor Russell, Kollin Cook, Clint Person. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tony Russell, Scott Peavy, James Person. Burial will follow at Lewis Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
