Deacon John “J.P.” Freeman, Sr., “PawPaw”,86, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Friday, June 19, 2020.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 65 years, Josie Lee Freeman of DeRidder, LA; sons, John Freeman, Jr. and Elma of San Antonio, TX, Jerry A. Freeman and Jacqueline of DeRidder, LA, Stanley E. Freeman and Kimberly of DeRidder, LA, Stephen Freeman of DeRidder, LA, Clyde Henry of San Antonio, TX, John Dillard of DeRidder, LA; daughters, Lorraine Patterson of DeRidder, LA, Charlsetta Davila and Rafael of Alexandria, LA, Wonza Singleton of Killeen, TX; God daughter, Johnny Patterson of DeRiddder, LA; sisters, Earnie Mae Collier of DeRidder, LA, Zenobia Freeman of DeRidder, LA; thirty-four grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren, eleven great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Ruth Miller; father, Issac Busby, Sr.; brother, L.C. Busby; sister, Helen Ruth Freeman.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, 2020, from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Pastor Dallas Thomas will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Michael Willis, Cedric Coaston, Desmond Coaston, Jabria Carter, Kern Fisher, D'Markus Woods. Burial will follow at Old Cypress Cemetery in DeRidder, LA. Repast will be at the Golden Sheaf Lodge, 517 Woodrow W. Batties Dr., DeRidder, LA, 70634.
