John Glaspie

Mr. John Glaspie was born July 5, 1932 to the late Tom (L.) and Princella (Miller) Glaspie.

He attended the Church of Christ in Bon Wier, Texas.  He was employed with West Brothers in DeRidder, Louisiana in 1969 as a Maintenance Supervisor.  He retired in 1984.

He married at an early age to Aslomia Nelson and to this union Six Children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Cheryl Glaspie; Five Brothers: Sam, Levi, Robert, B.B., and Lambert; Six Sisters:  Cleta Thomas, Beatrice Denton, Dovie Smith, Mary Glaspie, Pearl Glaspie and Dessie Randolph.

John leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Aslomia Glaspie; Two Sons:  Allan L. Glaspie (Petula) of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Johnny Glaspie (Mary) of Bon Wier, Texas; Three Daughters:  Beverly Harris of San Antonio, Texas, Gwendolyn Traylor of Cincinatti, Ohio and Bonnie Jackson (A.J.) of San Antonio, Texas; 11 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder.  Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder on Saturday, September 19, 2009.  Brother William Nelson, Jr. will officiate.  Burial will follow at Merryville Community Cemetery in Merryville, Louisiana.
