John Edgar Ruston, Sr.

John Edgar Ruston, Sr., 91, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on November 20, 2016.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, David Earl Ruston and wife Mary Anne of Sun City Center, FL and John E. Ruston, Jr. and wife Sherry of Hammond, LA; daughters, Martha Ruston Spetz and husband Gary of Leesburg, VA and Sandra Ruston Tidwell and husband Terry of Lafayette, LA; sister, Doris Ruston Burr and husband Robert of Bowling Green, KY; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Erma Ruston; wife, Mildred Ruston; and brother, R. B. Ruston.

Visitation and service will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 from 10:00AM-1:00PM until the time of service at 1:00PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home, in DeRidder, LA. Brother Gerald Read will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Johnny Ruston, Glenn Ruston, Danny Tidwell, Jake Tidwell, David Jones, Matt Kelly and Kevin Vowles.  Burial will follow at Quicksand Cemetery in Bon Wier, TX.

We would like to thank everyone for all their prayers and support.  He will truly be missed by all.
