Jimmie Ray Myers

March 12, 1937 - January 19, 2014

Jimmie Ray Myers, 76, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Sunday, January 19, 2014 in Lake Charles, LA.  Jimmie Ray retired as a superintendent in the oilfield and was a truck driver for Myers Logging for 10 years.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Chad Bass and wife Kathy of Evans, LA; daughter, Margai Bass and husband Mondo of Merryville, LA; brothers, Forest Myers and wife Frankie of Welsh, LA, Doug Myers and wife Kay of Merryville, LA, and Phillip Myers and wife Barbara of DeRidder, LA,; sisters, Dorlis Leblanc and husband Russell of Crowley, LA, Orlis Yawn and husband Hubert of Purvis, MS, and Tanga Sellers and husband Darron of Merryville, LA; grandchildren, Amber Rivers and husband Chris, Kaylee Bass and Jeb Bass; great grandchildren, Logan, Kyler, Greyson and Macy; and a host of nieces and nephews; and close friend, Charles Hudson.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Gracie Myers; brother, Wayne Myers; sister, Evalee Tilley.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 3:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 2:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Merryville Cemetery in Merryville, LA.  Bro. Frank Kendall and Bro. Roy Hoosier will officiate.
