Jessie "Aunt Jessie" Mae Frusha Jones

Jessie “Aunt Jessie” Mae Frusha Jones, 84, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Friday, December 20, 2019.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Betty Galloway of Merryville, LA; children; Susan, Joyce, Sarah, Matthew Jones; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Dorothy Frusha; sisters, Edna Frusha, Jean Myers, Nancy Moreau, Polly Longoria; brothers, John Leon Frusha, James Ray Frusha; husband, Tom Jones.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 5, 2019 at Hennigan Cemetery in Merryville, Louisiana.  Officiating the service will be Pastor Jason Fortenberry. Repast immediately following service at Merryville Community Center in Merryville, Louisiana.

Jessie worked at the Merryville High School cafeteria for many years and was well known as “Aunt Jessie” by students, friends, and all who knew her.  The last couple of years she was not able to drive, but would not miss a ride going anywhere with anyone!!! She loved to travel, never met a stranger and was always making new friends.  Aunt Jessie always had a passion for collecting purses and Coke items.  We can picture her in heaven with a Coke in her hand!  If you were to visit her, she would always have a Coke to offer you.  She loved reading books, from romance to western and was always trading out with family and friends.

She will truly be missed and forever cherished in our hearts.
