Jesse "Red" Henry

Jesse “Red” Henry, 91, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.

Paw Red loved feeding the fish out by the pond and riding around the property on his golf cart.  When he wasn’t watching his favorite football team you could find him out picking vegetables in his plentiful gardens.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, James Stanley Pickens & Robbin of Merryville, LA; daughters, Sandie Pickens Avery & Michael of Rosepine, LA and Teresa Henry Stanley & Michael of DeQuincy, LA; one sister, Shirley Henry Cooley of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Kelli Frusha Guice, Donna Elaine Flores, April Smith Garcia, Kyle Smith, Isaac Pickens, Shannon Pickens Quick, Christina Pickens, Kaitlyn Pickens Peterson, Joey Fontenot, Corey Cooper, Joshua Stanley, Matthew Stanley; twenty-eight great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Wanda Elaine Henry; parents, Otto and Doshee Henry; son, Leland “Butch” Pickens; brothers, Albert Henry, Allen Henry, Ray Henry; and sister, Ruby Henry Tilley.

Visitation and funeral will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Funeral service will be at 6:00 PM.  Brother Ben Derrick will officiate the service.
