J.C.  Ashworth 84 a resident of Bleakwood, Texas passed from this life Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital in Jasper, Texas.

Visitation will begin on Friday, October 16, 2009 at True Light Baptist Church, Merryville, La. beginning at 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Services will be Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Raymond Landry officiating.. Burial will follow at Spikes Cemetery , Bancroft.

J.C. Ashworth is survived by; Wife Mary Wingate Ashworth, Bleakwood, Texas. Sons Gerry &  Ocie Ashworth, Oberlin, La. StepsonsWalter & Latisha Hunter, Kirbyville, Texas, Billy Ray & Linda Hunter, Bleakwood, Texas. Special Sons:  Rick Jackson, Bleakwood, Texas, Al Garner, Merrville, La. Daughters Sandra Hunter, Bleakwood, Texas, Brenda Diggles, Newton, Texas , Minnie & Gregary Tyler, Newton, Texas, Vanessa Hubbard, Newton, Texas. Step-daughter Mary Jackson, Kirbyville, Texas. Brothers:  Arthur & Annie Rae Ashworth, DeRidder, Louisiana. 27 Grandchildren; 45 Great-Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers: Rick Jackson, Al Garner, Brian Hooper, Ricky Jackson, Jr., Tommy Ashworth.
