Jay Williamson, Sr.

Jay Williamson, Sr., of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, January 3, 2019.

Jay loved to spend his time hunting and fishing.

Those left to cherish his memory are sons, Jay Williamson, Jr. and Cynthia of Merryville, LA, Larry E. Williamson and Tammy of Tampa Bay, FL and Kenneth W. Williamson and Evelyn of Merryville, LA; grandchildren, Corey and Naomi Cooper, Eric and Marie Perkins, Jessica Williamson, Brent Williamson, Otis and Brittany McCain, Kami Williamson, Dylan Williamson, Brandy and Jeff Fontenot and Billie Ann and Donnie Bruchhaus; nineteen great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Williamson; brothers, Oscar, Jim, Melvin, Lester, Shorty, Aubrey, Skinny and Arthur Williamson; sisters, Alma Brister and Gert Williams.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church in Merryville, LA.  Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Sunday, January 6. 2019, also at Calvary Baptist Church.  Brother Jim Miers will officiate the service.  Pallbearers will be Brent Williamson, Corey Cooper, Dawson Bowling, Corbin Cooper, Troy Bryant and Randy Joplin.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Jasper Cooper, Otis McCain and Jeremiah McCain. Burial will follow at Merryville Cemetery in Merryville, LA.
