Janet Ann Miller Laurent, 83, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Monday, November 1, 2021.


Janet was born in New Orleans and resided in Destrehan, LA. She attended Destrehan High School where she served as Majorette and clarinetist. She was proud of the time she spent in LSU family housing while her husband attended college.  She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, where she tutored young children in their preparation for the sacrament of holy eucharist. She was also active in two church-based organizations; the auxiliary to the Knights of Columbus, where she served as president and The Women’s Auxiliary at Beauregard Health System, where she served as president as well. In DeRidder, she was manager of Payless Shoe Source until it’s closing.


Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Donald Lee J. Laurent; son, Brett Lane Laurent and Joy Hunt; daughters, Donna Lee Laurent Marino and Tony, Ronna Lynne Laurent Harper and Mike, Traci Lyn Laurent Bumgardner and Dan; ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen Lane Miller, Sr. and Anna Seale Miller; brother, Allen Lane Miller, Jr.; grandson, Devyn Lane Harper.


Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a rosary being said at 6:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Harper, Tony Marino, Brett Laurent and Dan Bumgardner. Following cremation, her remains will be interred in the Southwest Louisiana Veteran’s Cemetery in Jennings, LA.
