James "Jimmy" Paul Galloway, Iii

James “Jimmy” Paul Galloway, III, 80, of DeRidder, LA, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 19, 2023.


He was a loving husband, daddy and pawpaw. He was always a hard worker and great provider for his family. After graduating from high school, he went into the stumping business with his dad. After Crosby Chemicals shut down, they went into the logging business, which he did until he retired. One of his greatest accomplishments was being selected Louisiana Logger of the Year, along with his son, Greg in 2005.


Jimmy graduated from DeRidder High School in 1961. He married the love of his life, Barbara in 1962. He was a member of New Life Baptist Church. He loved working his farm and land and taking care of his Belted Galloway Cows.


Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of sixty-one years, Barbara Galloway of DeRidder, LA; son, Greg Galloway and Dana of DeRidder, LA; daughter, Angela Galloway Harrington and Brad of DeRidder, LA; brother, Tommy Galloway and Cheryl of DeRidder, LA; sister, Sharon Farquhar of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Drew Galloway and Jennifer, Shane Galloway, Tate Galloway, Ty Harrington and Brooke, Coy Harrington and Samantha, Trace Galloway; great grandchildren, Sam Royston Galloway, Eli James Galloway, Jacey Harrington, Anna Galloway, Luke Harrington, Miles Harrington and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents, J.P. and Lois Galloway; grandparents, James and Carrie Galloway, Charlie and Dona McCullough.


Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2023 from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 3:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Brother Keith Manuel and Brother Lynn Clayton will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Drew Galloway, Shane Galloway, Tate Galloway, Ty Harrington, Coy Harrington, Trace Galloway. Burial will follow at Cooper Cemetery in Merryville, LA.


The family would like to thank Beauregard Home Health, Brighton Bridge Hospice, and also his sitters, Faye, Chris and Shelia for their compassionate care.


In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Parkinson Foundation, New Life Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
