James S Hennigan

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James S. Hennigan, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who left us on February 8, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on September 25, 1940, in Merryville, Louisiana, James spent his life filled with love, adventure, and hard work.

James was a maintenance supervisor at DuPont, where he dedicated over 30 years of his life, ensuring everything ran smoothly in the chemical industry. He embraced his passions fully-hunting, fishing, and camping were some of his favorite pastimes. A true cowboy at heart, James had a special love for horses and cattle, often spending weekends enjoying the wide-open spaces.

Above all, James cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Hennigan of Vidor, TX; his son, Randy Hennigan and Stephanie of Henderson, TX; his daughters, Suzanne Hennigan of Buna, TX, JoLynn Ibarra and Xavier of Hutto, TX; brothers, Joe Hennigan and Patti, Isaac Hennigan, all of Junction, LA; grandchildren, William, Audrey, Leighton, Jaecob, Danny and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. James adored his kids and grandkids, always making time to share stories and create lasting memories with them.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Seab and Leona Hennigan; sister, Avon Hennigan; mother of his children, Judy Stanley Hennigan.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Bethel Grove United Pentecostal Church in Junction, LA. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. We invite all those who knew him to join us in celebrating a life well-lived-a life full of laughs, outdoor adventures, and steadfast love for family.
