James Clifford Blackmon

James Clifford Blackmon, 78, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Monday, November 14, 2016.

Mr. Blackmon was a Deacon of Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church.  He played Blue Grass music for many years with his friends and family. He loved to fish and hunt. As well, Clifford and his son Jody enjoyed reloading ammunition and shooting guns.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carolyn “Sue” Blackmon of Merryville, LA; his son, Jody Blackmon of Dallas, TX; his sister, Lilly Ann Hickman of Merryville, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 5:00-9:00 pm at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 10:00 am also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Brother Truman Keel will officiate the service.  The pallbearers are David Ludoph, David Hickman, Britton Eaves, Donny Hickman, Terry Nichols and John Dallas Kidder.  Honorary pallbearers are Randy Hickman and Jamie Simmons.  Burial will follow in Cannon Cemetery in Merryville, LA.
