James Aubrey Ashworth

James Aubrey Ashworth, 91, of Sugartown, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, James E. Ashworth of Ruston, LA, Brady Ashworth and Alison of Sugartown, LA; daughter, Nelda Ashworth of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Angel Ashworth, Abi Leachman(Robby), John Ashworth(Aleia), Robert Price, Milanna, McKenzie and Brayden Ashworth; thirteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Faye(Sue) Ashworth; parents, Henderson and Beulah Ashworth; brothers, Buck Ashworth, Wayne Ashworth, Herman Ashworth, Danny Ashworth; sister, Loleda Hammock; brothers-in-law, Aubrey Gill, Carl Jordan; sisters-in-law, Zela Jordan, Lela Perkins, Delora Gill; daughter, Shelda Price.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Smyrna Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA.  Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 8, 2024 also at Smyrna Baptist Church.  Brother Tim Lee will officiate the service.  Pallbearers will be Grady Collins, Ralph Weldon, Frank Williams, Bryan Ashworth, CE Cole and Fred Deason.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Daniel Leachman, Brayden Ashworth, CW Caraway. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
