Jacquelyn "Jackie" Harbison

Jacquelyn “Jackie” Sue Vernier Harbison, 84, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

Jackie was a full time Mom, MawMaw, caregiver and prayer warrior. Her Faith in God and Faithfulness to God was an inspiration to all who knew her. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of sixty-six years, Don Harbison of DeRidder, LA; son, Michael Harbison and Caimy of Spring, TX; brother, John L. Vernier of Rosepine, LA; grandchildren, Heather Dickson and Joe Tom, Karah Heinrich and Brett, Aaron Harbison, Adam Harbison; great grandchildren, Gage Dickson, Drew Dickson, Emmalynn Heinrich, Cayden Heinrich and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy McDonald; parents, Jack and Leta Vernier; brothers, Bobby Vernier, Charles Vernier.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA. Brother Steve Thomas will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Aaron Harbison, Joe Tom Dickson, Gage Dickson, Trey Smith, Andy Smith, Brian Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Drew Dickson and Adam Harbison. Burial will follow at Lewis Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jackie’s memory to the Joe Joslin Scholarship Fund.
