Iris Byrd

July 25, 1928 - May 26, 2014

Iris Byrd, 85, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Monday, May 26, 2014.  Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Velma Henderson of Alabama; grandchildren, Tracy Chapa and husband Joe of DeRidder, LA, and Robert Strange of Houston, TX; great grandchildren, Halley Chapa and Joe Chapa III.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Ray Byrd; parents, Arie and Ida Spikes; brothers, Edward and Albert Spikes.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 4:00pm until 10:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Funeral services will be Friday, May 30, 2014 at 3:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.  Rev. Eddie Wellman and Rev. David Kennedy will officiate.
