Surrounded by his family, Ira Lee Stewart, Jr., 49, of Pickering, LA, went to be with his Lord after succumbing to a chronic illness on July 19, 2018 in Shreveport, LA.

Ira Lee Stewart was born to parents Ira Lee Stewart, Sr., and Martha Sue Wilburn Tyndall on May 6, 1969 in Alexandria, Louisiana.  He held a Master’s Degree in Psychology from the University of South Carolina.  His talents and hard work were given to many areas of the Federal Government, his local community and to places he lived and visited.

Ira is survived by his daughter; father, Ira Lee Stewart, Sr. and Step-Dad, Henderson “Junior” Tyndall; sisters, Deborah [John] Singletary and Rebecca [Danny] Barrett; brother, Kenneth Stewart; nieces Sarah [Angelo] Marquez, Marley Singletary, and Santanna Kessler; nephews, Charlie Stewart and Jebediah Barrett; great-nieces, Triniti Lewis and Ayrenne Burkland; great-nephews, Owen Wisnoski and Roman Marquez; and an abundance of many more loving family members and loyal friends. He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Martha Tyndall, and brothers, Louis Heitz, Marel and Daryl Stewart.

Ira enjoyed a full life surrounded by his family, an abundance of friends, faithful dogs, fishing, hunting, farming, gardening and reading.  He was a number 1 and loyal fan of the University of South Carolina’s Gamecocks. Wherever Ira traveled, his light shone around him with love towards his fellowman never meeting a stranger and making lasting, loving relationships. He was confident in his knowledge of Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.

In celebration of his life, there will be a memorial service held at Myers Colonial Funeral Home on September 15, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. Memorial donations/in lieu of flowers may be made to the organization/charity of your choice. Pastor Jerry Key will officiate.
