Herbert Edward Strange, Jr.

Herbert Edward Strange, Jr., 83, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Monday, July 15, 2024.

Herbert graduated from DeRidder High School and went on to attend LSU where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He owned and operated Bryan and Strange Accounting Firm and Business Consulting for many years. Herb was the secretary and treasurer for the DeRidder Rotary Club for nineteen years as well as the secretary of Old Cypress Cemetery and Pentecostal Worship Center. In his spare time, he enjoyed making stained glass. Above all, he loved his church and spending time with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of fifty years, Lanora Strange of DeRidder, LA; sons, Danny strange and Diana of Cookville, TN, Steve Pittman and Tori of DeRidder, LA, Richard Strange of Morrilton, AR, Dewey Pittman of Rosepine, LA; daughters, Marian Davis and Barry of DeRidder, LA, Kayla Knowles of Morrilton, AR; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Sr., and Verda Strange.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Pentecostal Worship Center in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 18, 2024, also at Pentecostal Worship Center. Reverend Tommy Magee and Pastor George Lee Glass will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Roger Smith, Josh Wooden, Jake Strange, Danny Strange, Steve Pittman, Dewey Pittman, Barry Davis. Burial will follow at Old Cypress Cemetery in Rosepine, LA.
