Hannon Hardy Hickman, Sr.

Hannon Hardy Hickman, Sr., 82, of Port Neches, TX, formerly of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Friday, May 3, 2024.

Hardy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He loved fishing, hunting, frog gigging, playing bingo, cards and washers. He always looked forward to attending the Hickman-Swilley family reunions. Hardy and the kids and grandkids often rode the backwoods, making a lot of memories. He loved his chihuahua puppies, Precious and Emily. Hardy was always there for all family events, supporting the kids and grandchildren, no matter how much pain he may have been in. He is loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of sixty-two years, Sherlyn Swilley Hickman of Port Neches, TX, formerly of Merryville, LA; son, Hardy Hickman, Jr. and Sherry of Bridge City, TX; daughters, Gwendolyn Hickman of Groves, TX; Stacy Hickman Amburn and Donald Keith of San Augustine, TX; sisters, Ardessa Swilley of Jennings, LA, Oline Brashier of Jasper, TX, Guanda Istre and Ernest of Crowley, LA; grandchildren, Lorena McGlothlin, Kenneth McGlothlin, Paul McGlothlin, Jr., Joshua Amburn, Jeremy Amburn, Jonathan Amburn, Brittany Hickman, Davin Fountain, Trevor Fountain, Ricky Hannon Fountain; great grandchildren, Ashlyn McGlothlin. Joshua Amburn, Jr., Leighlah Amburn, Lillie McGlothlin, Abigail McGlothlin, Jackson Hannon Amburn, Liam McGlothlin, one on the way, John Crawford Amburn and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Orvis Floyd Hickman; grandson, Ricky Foreman, parents, Orvis and Era Hickman; brother, Orlan Tatum Hickman.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Boxwood Church of Christ in Bivens, LA. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 10, 2024, also at Boxwood Church of Christ in Bivens, LA. Darrell Hieronymus and Jay Brooks will officiate the service. Kevin Franks will lead the songs. Pallbearers will be Hardy Hickman, Jr., Robert Swilley, Kennth McGlothlin, Paul McGlothlin, Jr., Joshua Amburn, Sr., Jeremy Amburn, Jonathan Amburn, Brittany Hickman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Davin, Trevor, Ricky Fountain and the great grandsons. Burial will follow at Bivens Cemetery in Bivens, LA.
