Gregory Lydell Sweet, Sr., 55, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Monday, January 11, 2021.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Ida Jackson Sweet of Merryville, LA; sons, Gregory Sweet, Jr. and Marshall Sweet, both of Merryville, LA, KeAndre Jackson and Ayla of Bon Wier, TX, Patrick Jackson and Brittany of New Waverly, TX; daughter, Ivona Sweet of Merryville, LA; mother, Katherine Sweet of Merryville, LA; brothers, Kenneth Sweet and Mildred of Bon Wier, TX, Cecil Sweet and Denise of Merryville, LA, Darrell Sweet and Myra of Baytown, TX; sister, Sharon Sweet and Aaron Mazyck of Merryville, LA; eleven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Marcus Jackson; father, George Sweet; grandmother, Rosie Sweet.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Pastor Randy Forward will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gregory Sweet, Jr., Marshall Sweet, KeAndre Jackson, Patrick Jackson, Kenny Sweet, Cecil Sweet, Darrell Sweet, Philander Sweet. Burial will follow at Merryville Community Cemetery in Merryville, LA.
