Gloria Jeane Gill

Gloria Jeane Gill, 92, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on January 4, 2017.

Gloria was happily married to Harvey Gill for 54 years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was a treasure and will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Joel Lee Gill and wife Shelia of Leesville, LA and Billy Howard Gill of Pitkin, LA; daughter, Beverly Thomas of Houston, TX; sisters, Della, Jerri Faye, Delores and Edith; five grandchildren, Richard, Sheila, Joel Lee, William, and Marianne; twelve great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey Strength and Elizabeth Franklin; her husband, Harvey Gill; and her sister, Virginia Lee.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 5:00PM-8:00PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Visitation continues on Friday at Providence Baptist Church at 12:00 noon until the time of service at 2:00PM, in the Providence Community. Officiating will be Pastor Arlen Smith and Judge Anthony Eaves.  Pallbearers will be Joel Lee Gill, II, William Thomas, Stuart Sumney, Jeremy Burge, Ian Glasgow, and Zachry Huggins.  Burial will follow at John C. White Cemetery also in Providence Community.
