Gladys Sowells

March 23, 1942 - August 4, 2015

Gladys Sowells, 73, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 4, 2015.  Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Portia Ashworth of Louisville, KY, and Patricia Ashworth and husband Larry of DeRidder, LA; brother, James Williams of Lake Charles, LA; grandchildren, Sharena Johnson, Quinton Sowells, Alvin Ashworth, Collie Wideman, Brian Ashworth, Ashley Ashworth, Antonio Ashworth, Larry Ashworth, Jr. and LaQuanda Ashworth; and 29 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Welton Sowells; mother, Bessie Mae Pegues; aunt, Roxie Lee Williams; brothers, Gene Carter, Bennie Jackson, Murry Crump, and Charles Stanley.

Visitation and Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder.  Visitation begins at 11:00am until time of funeral service at 1:00pm.  Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder.
