Gerald Lee Read, 88 of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Monday, September, 3, 2018.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Billie Gene Read of Merryville, LA; son, Gerald Read of Merryville, LA; sister, Merle Craft of Merryville, LA; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon & Bessie Read; daughter: Karen Lynette Schlett; Brothers, John Read and Bill Read; sisters, Ida Mae Hennigan, Eula V. Hare, and Aileen Read, and his granddaughter, Wendy Gene Read.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church in Merryville, LA.  Visitation will continue at 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 6, 2018 also at Macedonia Baptist Church in Merryville, LA.  Pastor Chad Boone, Elder Walter McAlpin and Elder Jimbo Swinney will officiate the service.  Burial will follow at Cannon Cemetery in Merryville, LA.
