George Burnie Lucas

George Burnie “Red Horse” Lucas, 84, of Leesville, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, June 27, 2019.

Those left to cherish his memory are sons, Michael Lucas of Rosepine, LA and George Kelvin Lucas and Hazel of DeRidder, LA; daughter, Aimee Lucas and Fiance’ George Clark of Rosepine, LA; grandchildren, Leann Hoffman and husband Justin, Michelle Lucas, Benjamin Lucas and wife Kelsey, Shelby Lucas, Brittanie McGee and husband Byron, Haley Dyer Warden, Josie Wilson and husband Michael, Patrick Slaydon, Lucas Slaydon, Morgan Slaydon and Levi Slaydon; great grandchildren, Graclyn McGee, Levi Warden, Daniel Lucas and Natalya Wilson and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Josie Lucas; parents, Johnny & Lois Lucas; sister, Ethel Mae Walker.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019 from 4:00-9:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Rosepine Cemetery in Rosepine, LA.  Brother Zel Lewis and Brother Billy Foshee will officiate the service.
