Gary "Bebo" Upchurch

Gary Lemuel “Bebo” Upchurch, 59, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Sunday, September 19, 2021.

“Bebo” was a good man who loved God and his country. He was a dedicated husband and father who worked hard and was a great provider. His grandkids were his whole world. If he had any free time, his favorite thing to do was go fishing. “Bebo” was always willing to help anyone. He is loved by all who knew him and will be missed greatly.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of thirty-seven years, Carolyn Upchurch of Merryville, LA; daughter, Anna Upchurch & T-Ray of Merryville, LA; step-son, Keith Simmons of Merryville, LA; brothers, Frank Sullivan, David Brown; sisters, LuWanna Upchurch, Belinda Brown, Lori Brown, Penny Upchurch; grandchildren, Aiden Ford, Kaelyn Ford, Briella Ford, Shawna Simmons, Zak Simmons and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Lucius; sisters, Debi Kay Brown, Tina Upchurch; brother, Todd Eugene Upchurch; uncle, Wayburn Walker and Doris; grandfather, Lemuel Holiday Lucius; grandmother, Julia Maggie Lee Barker; grandfather, Jewell Charlie “J.C.” Upchurch.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 24, 2021, also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Pastor Glenn Burks will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Patrick Miller, Glenn Miller, Joshua Daigle, Henry Ruano, Brandon Larson, B.J. Curry. Burial will follow at Cannon Cemetery in Merryville, LA.
