Freddy Curtis Francisco, Sr.

Freddy Curtis Francisco, Sr. was born April 20, 1957 in Pineville, LA to Herman and Dorothy Francisco. He passed from this life on Monday, August 9, 2021 in Alexandria, LA.

He lived in Beauregard Parish all of his life. He worked for Tanner Construction Company then Beauregard Memorial Hospital in housekeeping, soon moving up to supervisor, cleaning and buffing floors, he was later blessed with the opportunity to work at DeRidder Junior High as a floor tech supervisor. The job at DJHS was the one he loved most because he could interact with the children. He would always talk to them when they got in trouble and try to guide them in the right direction. They listened to “Mr. Fred” and respected his outspokenness. Freddy was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and had a passion for fishing and riding horses.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Thelma Francisco of DeRidder, LA; children, Freddy Curtis Francisco, Jr. of DeRidder, LA, Dianne Marie Francisco Thibodeaux (Cornell) of Carencro, LA, Lashun Matthews of San Antonio, TX, Shannon Thompkins (Johnny) of DeRidder, LA, Phillip Crocket of DeRidder, LA, Tyrone Turner of DeRidder, LA; fourteen grandchildren; one great granddaughter, Cali; mother, Dorothy Francisco of DeRidder, LA, brothers, Nelson Ray Francisco of Moss Bluff, LA, Herman Francisco, Jr. (Lydia) of DeRidder, LA, Isaac Francisco of Jasper, TX; sisters, Juanita Mayes (Larry) of DeRidder, LA, Cora Johnson (Troy) of LaPlace, LA; several special family members that he will always cherish, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Francisco; sister, Patricia Holmes.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021 from 12:00 PM until time of service at 1:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Pastor Jasper Newson will officiate the service. Honorary Pallbearers will be Freddy Curtis, Jr., Herman Francisco, Nelson Francisco, Isaac Francisco, Tyrone Turner, Alfred Archield, Lewis Jackson, Darian Thompkins, Tyler Thompkins, Isaiah Thompkins.
