Fred was later employed at Fort Polk where he worked for over 20 years at the Officer’s club and later as a short order cook at the NCO Club.  When he retired from Fort Polk, he owned and operated Fred’s Carry Out until his health failed.  Fred’s last few years were spent at Rosepine Retirement and Rehabilitation Center in Rosepine, Louisiana.
