Frances Marceal Slaughter Moore

Frances Marceal Moore, born March 18, 1929 in Hamburg, AR, passed away on September 29, 2022 at the age of 93. Frances’ greatest passion was always to be a stay at home mom who was there to support her husband of 64 years, James, and raise and enjoy her five children in all of life’s adventures.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, James Moore; parents, Finers and Mabel Slaughter; her brother Bobby W. Slaughter; and her sisters Jeanette Thomas, Louis Cowgill and Wilean Rasor.

She is survived by her sister Margaret Sheets; her sons: Jimmy and wife Gaylyn, Larry, Terry and wife Sharon, Jeff and wife Dana, daughter Diane and husband Jerrydon, her ten grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

The family gives sincere thanks to the caregivers at Brighton Bridge Hospice and Elara Caring Home Health.

Visitation will be held on Friday October 7, 2022 from 12-2pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be held thereafter at 2pm on October 7, 2022.  Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
