Foy Wayne Rhodes

Foy Wayne Rhodes, 82, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Saturday, December 7, 2019.

Mr. Rhodes proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1957 – 1960.  He worked for DuPont Chemical Company for 36 years, where he retired.  Later in life, he served the Town of Merryville as Mayor.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 56 years, Carolyn Sue Whiddon Rhodes of Merryville, LA; son, Ricky Wayne Rhodes of Baytown, TX; daughter, Susan Rhodes Neely and Jeff of Merryville, LA; grandsons, Shawn Neely and (Tanner), Kyle Neely and (Demi), Tyler Neely, and Cole Rhodes; grandaughter, Haven Neely; great grandchildren, Taitum Rien and Hiram Foy; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aunt Jo and Uncle Bert Hennigan.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at First Baptist Church in Merryville, LA.  Brother Wayne Squires will officiate the service.  Pallbearers will be Shawn Neely, Kyle Neely, Tyler Neely, Cole Rhodes, Jeff Neely and Douglas Fletcher.  Burial will follow at Merryville Cemetery in Merryville, La.
