Floyd "Bo" Bolton Rodriguez, Sr.

Floyd "Bo" Bolton Rodriguez, Sr., 69, of DeRidder, LA, passed away on January 17, 2025. Born on May 3, 1955, in Kinder, LA, he lived a life filled with hard work, laughter, and love for his family.

Floyd was a dedicated millwright in the lumber industry, but if you asked him, he'd tell you that his true passion was tinkering with small engines. He was a true jack-of-all-trades with a knack for fixing just about anything. Outside of work, Floyd could often be found hunting or fishing, always with a joke up his sleeve that brought smiles to those around him. 

Floyd proudly joined the Army in 1972, his dedication to service mirrored the way he lived his life-with commitment, humor, and an unwavering love for his family. He will be missed dearly by those whose lives he touched.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Delores Rodriguez of DeRidder, LA; children, Floyd Rodriguez, Jr. (Bopete) of DeRidder, LA, Willis Rodriguez and Michelle of DeRidder, LA, Anthony Rodriguez and Cherilyn of Knight, LA, Lois Rodriguez Self and Stephen of Cottonwood, LA, Floyd Rodriguez, III and Kailee of Knight; honorary son, Richard Self of Anacoco, LA; brothers, Grady Dockrey, Sr. and Stephanie of Dry Creek, LA, Dennis Rodriguez of Denham Springs, LA; sisters, Carolyn Yancey of New Llano, LA, Doris Goins of Rosepine, LA, Patricia Dockery of DeRidder, LA, Delores Guillory of St. Francisville, LA, Juanita Warner of LA, Lois Rodriguez of CO; grandchildren, Shade, Buddy, Tristen, Blake, Kaisha, Gavin, MaKenna, Blaise, Brayden, Kayelyn, Stevie, Skyleigh, Korbyn; great grandchildren, Phoebe, Dewayne "Roe", Lennon; grand dog, Piss Willie and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Lee Rodriguez; mother, June Evelyn Dockery; stepfather, Paul Dockrey, Sr.; sisters, Linda Dockrey, Mary Evelyn Haynes; brothers, Paul Dockrey, Jr., Richard Lee Rodriguez.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Deacon Grady Dockery, Jr. will officiate the service. Honorary Pallbearers will be Anthony Rodriguez, Floyd B. Rodriguez, III, Willis Rodriguez, Stephen Self, Richard Self, Brayden Rodriguez, Blaise Self, Tristen Rodriguez.

Cremation has been entrusted to Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.
