Fleming Tellis

Fleming Tellis was born on February 22, 1955 in Ville Platte, LA to the late Minnie L. Busby Tellis and the late Bennie Tellis. He transitioned from his earthly home on November 7, 2023.

Fleming was raised in DeRidder, LA and educated in Beauregard parish. During his younger years he was employed by Morris Tire Service in Leesville, LA, and Beauregard Country Club in DeRidder, LA. For the last twenty-six years, he was a Certified Land Surveyor for Vidrine Land Surveying Company until he retired.

Fleming received Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age at St. Paul COGIC under the leadership of the late Elder A.C. Abraham.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Bobbie Tellis, Carrie Tellis, Lesher Tellis, all of DeRidder, LA, Sandra Taylor and Anthony of OKC, OK, Elanda Tellis of Sulphur, LA; brother, Donnie Tellis and Sophia of DeRidder, LA; aunts, Bobbie Johnson  of Houston, TX, Marie Jackson of Silsbee, TX; the love of his life, his fiancé, Alice Jackson of DeRidder, LA, step-sons, Adrian Dorsey, Johnathan Dorsey, Donavon(Lanesha) Jackson, Carl Jackson; grandchildren, Taliyah, Jalysia, Daveon, Xavier, Coreyon; great nieces and nephews, Justin, Jr., Owen, NeVaeh, Elijah, Bernice; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Minnie Lee Tellis; brother, Marvin Tellis; sisters, Minnie Robertson, Bennie Mae Tellis.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM at St. Mary COGIC in DeRidder, LA. Elder Darrell Spencer will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Carl Jackson, Justin Tellis, Larnell Tellis, Joshua Tellis, Donnie Tellis, Michael Tellis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnathon Dorsey, Donavon Jackson, William Tellis, Donnie Tellis, Sr. Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
