Eva Mae Acker

Eva Mae Acker, 69, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Monday, March 5, 2018.

Eva was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  She worked for the Beauregard Parish School System for 16 years before retiring.  She loved taking care of her house plants and spoiling her grandchildren.  She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Justin Acker and wife Ethel of DeRidder, LA; daughter, Tempest Acker of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Sammie Acker and wife Susan of Galveston, TX and Christopher Washington of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Pecola Johnson of New Orleans, LA and Frankie Jones and husband Jonas of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Tatyana and Taliyah Acker, Jonathan Davis, Angela Gibson, Vernon Gibson, Alalia Sowells and a host of other family and friends. Preceding her in death are her parents, Sammy and Helen Acker.

Visitation and funeral service will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Sunrise Baptist Church.  Visitation will be at 8:00 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM.   Brother Alvin Peters, Sr. will officiate the service.  Pallbearers will be, Jonas Jones, Willie Green, Dos Reis Acker, Jarrette Acker, Antonio Acker, Sammie Acker, Jr., Bryan McNair and Elroy Beasley.  Burial will follow at Starlight Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
