Ervin Sylvester Lee

May 1, 1935 - February 20, 2016

Ervin Sylvester Lee was born May 1, 1935 in Mansura, LA to the union of the late Edward and Mary S. Lee.  On April 21, 1956 he married Elmary Bazart.  Together Ervin and Elmary celebrated the birth of six children.  Ervin was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of DeRidder, LA.  He was Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #3857, where he was past Grand Knight, served as a Eucharistic Minister and a Lector.  Ervin retired from Kite Bros. after forty-three productive years. Ervin was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary S. Lee; four brothers, Cleo, Joseph, Murray and Mathew Lee; daughter, Vanessa; and son, Christopher.

Cherishing his memory are his wife of nearly 60 years, Elmary Lee; four sons, Clyde  of Leesville, LA, Paul of DeRidder, LA, Cedrick of North Carolina, John Lee Sr. of Lafayette, La; 3 brothers, Edward Jr., Norwood and wife Mary , Spellman and wife Jan; 2 sisters, Dorothy Oliver and husband Wilbert, and Velma Amos and husband Bobby; brother-in-law, Vincent Prier; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A special thank you to the Doctors and Nursing staff of Westwood Manor Nursing Home. Visitation will be held Friday, February 26, 2016 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Funeral service is Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Mansura, LA.  Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Mansura.
