Emma Lee Bolton Malachi, 63, of DeRidder, LA, was born on August 2, 1961, in Stuttgart, Germany, and passed on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandra, Louisiana. Emma was the tenth of thirteen children born to her loving parents, the late SFC Amos Bolton, Sr. and Annie L. Bolton. She graduated from DeRidder High School in 1980 and later completed her Cosmetology certification at Job Corps in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Emma gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a dedicated member of the New Hope CME Church under the leadership of Reverend Quincy Major; at New Hope, she served faithfully as President of the Choir and a member of the Christian Missionary Society. She also spent years volunteering in the church kitchen and live-streamed church services, embodying a spirit of service. Emma was a sister of the Golden Sheaf Chapter #55 Order of Eastern Star PHA DeRidder, where she served as Worthy Matron, Associate Matron, and Secretary; she was also a faithful member of the Sisters Enhancing Sisters community organization
A devoted mother, sister, aunt, and friend, Emma touched many lives. She worked as a nursing assistant and laundry worker at DeRidder Retirement and Rehab Center, later continuing her caregiving at Normal Life Group Home and as a private sitter. Emma was known for her warmth and commitment to making others feel cherished. Her thoughtful Facebook posts for birthdays, anniversaries, community announcements, and "just because" moments brightened the lives of many all year long, bringing comfort and connection to all.
Emma’s memory will be cherished by her sons, Christopher Bolton of DeRidder, LA, and Jermaine Malachi (Lexus) of Killeen, TX; her honorary daughter, Tava Scott (Terrell) of Detroit, MI; her grandchildren, Auburn, Dakota, and Niyah of DeRidder, LA, and Carter, Tristan, and Priscilla of Killeen, TX; her sisters, Eartha Simon and Sachincko Hickman of DeRidder, LA; her brother, Sol Wesley Bolton and (Valetta) of Canton, GA; sister-in-law, Joann Bolton of DeRidder, LA; Godson, Tre Jackson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, SFC Amos Bolton, Sr., and Annie L. Bolton; brothers, Ahmos Zu-Bolton II, James Bolton Sr., Terry L. Bolton, Marvin Bolton Sr., Sol Wayne Bolton, and Ravis Bolton; sisters, Juanita Bolton Major, Kathleen Bolton Grant, Alice Ansella Alberta Bolton; and daughter-in-love, Marquita Wright.
Emma’s legacy of love, kindness, and faith will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at New Hope CME in DeRidder, LA. Reverend Quincy Major will officiate the service.
